About The Position

This role provides support for personnel security, physical security, and information security within a Department of the Navy (DoW) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environment. The Special Security Representative will assist in managing security clearances, access requests, SCIFs, and classified material.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a DoW SCI environment.
• Regional Cognizant Security Authority Norfolk SSO-SSR Professional Training Course required within 1 year of assuming position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all personnel security actions, including initiating, reviewing, and processing clearance and periodic reinvestigation requests using DISS.
• Process incoming and outgoing visit access requests for all supported personnel.
• Perform fingerprinting.
• Conduct indoctrinations for personnel granted access to SCI.
• Conduct debriefings for personnel no longer requiring access.
• Assist in the management and administration of the command's SCIFs, including managing SCIF identification numbers and Temporary Secure Working Areas (TSWA).
• Prepare and maintain all SCIF accreditation documentation in accordance with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705.
• Assist with information security and security education programs.
• Assist with the accountability and control of SCI, Top Secret, and NATO classified material.
• Serve as an assistant Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO).
• Conduct semi-annual inventories of accountable material.
• Assist in the execution of the command's security education and training program, to include providing briefings.
