About The Position

Block by Block CA is seeking friendly Ambassadors to enhance public spaces, making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner. With a large presence across California, the company offers opportunities for career growth, with many management positions filled by former Ambassadors. The mission is to make public spaces friendly and vibrant for the communities served. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and seeing the tangible results of their work in improving public spaces. Ambassadors act as local caretakers, professionally representing the company and its customers, ensuring public spaces are well-maintained to encourage return visits and positive experiences. They take ownership of the experience of everyone in the public space.

Requirements

Must have a driver's license.
Must be handy with basic tools and understand how things work.
Must have the physical capacity to stand and move continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen-minute breaks and one thirty-minute meal break).
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

Circulate through assigned work zones in the work area completing manual and/or mechanical cleaning of needed items or spaces.
Operate large hot water power unit to clean sidewalks or plazas, street furniture, or any other areas in need of deep cleaning.
Operation of large litter vacuums to sweep up litter, debris or leaves.
Be a visible presence and have friendly interactions with the people in the public space we serve.
Use a simple smartphone app to report normal activities and maintenance reports.
