About The Position

Block by Block is seeking individuals to serve as Special Projects Ambassadors, focusing on enhancing public spaces to make them friendlier, safer, and cleaner. Requirements

Must possess a driver's license.
Must be handy with basic tools and understand how things work.
Must have the physical capacity to stand and move continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks.
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Previous experience in operating lawn equipment including mowers and weed eaters/trimmers.
Ability to maintain equipment is a plus.
Current TN Driver's License required.
Must have the physical capacity to walk continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen-minute breaks and one thirty-minute meal break).
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

Ability to maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate lawn equipment for mowing, trimming, and edging.
Circulate through assigned work zones to perform manual and/or mechanical cleaning.
Operate a large hot water power unit for deep cleaning of sidewalks, plazas, and street furniture.
Utilize large litter vacuums to sweep up litter, debris, or leaves.
Maintain a visible and friendly presence, interacting positively with people in the public space.
Use a smartphone app to report on activities and maintenance.
