About The Position

The Division of Behavioral Health & Housing (DBHH) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Special Projects Advisor-Children's System of Care. Under the direction of the Children's System of Care Program Administrator, the Children's System of Care Special Projects Advisor is responsible for projects such as monitoring health plan deliverables and providing technical assistance; conducting administrative studies; developing cooperative work relationships with stakeholders; developing clear, concise, and thorough work plans; analysis of data; conduct system research to identify critical areas to improve outcomes for Medicaid members and integrated care systems. This position will report and disseminate findings that support program planning and decision making; data collection and monitoring of programs to enhance integrated behavioral health and physical health care management and service delivery. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.   • Three years' experience in behavioral health service delivery systems including experience in a public managed care environment.
  • A degree in social work, public health, healthcare, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Completes critical analyses and oversight of issues related to the children's system of care including evaluating factors affecting services and implementing plans for system improvements through policy and contract updates.
  • Conducts or participates in behavioral health program and project evaluation to include completing Managed Care deliverable review, monitor activities, and using information in deliverables to track data for the Children's system of care, to identify opportunities for improvement and to provide technical assistance to the health plans, as needed.
  • Supports and participates in other quality and utilization management activities for behavioral health services received by child/family members within the Children's System of Care, including but not limited to review of chart documentation fidelity monitoring.
  • Analyze behavioral health data and use analysis to write reports and create presentation with findings and recommendations for the Children's System of Care.
  • Advise on children's systems-related/data-related issues.
  • Participates in resolving member specific issues and escalating the needs of members as appropriate to other internal teams.
  • Conduct literature reviews and engages in data analysis on topics that pertinent to the children's system of care or as requested by the Children's System of Care Administrator.
