KBR is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join their team. This role is responsible for integrating the physical, mental, and psychological wellness of service members and their families. The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services, including supervising and providing general screening and medical care for routine, acute, and chronic conditions. This includes administering immunizations, diagnosing, treating, and counseling patients. The role also involves technically directing and teaching other staff, providing evidence-based educational lectures, and participating in in-service training. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols and clinical practice guidelines, potentially in consultation with a physician. Promoting preventive care and health maintenance, such as annual physicals and positive health behaviors, through formal and individual education and counseling is also key. Effective communication and collaboration with diverse groups to inform the healthcare team, educate patients/families, and recognize conditions requiring isolation and universal precautions are essential. The position requires attendance at staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, and quality improvement and safety initiatives.
