The Community Resource Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for the comprehensive and effective coordination, development, and evaluation of programs and services that contribute directly and positively to the resiliency of the assigned unit’s force and families. The Coordinator will organize and oversee peer support networks for their assigned commands, recruit active duty and family member peer support counselors, and ensure they are vetted and trained according to USSOCOM CRC standards. Responsibilities include collecting and reporting data for program evaluations, identifying and documenting program/service needs, and developing needs-based programming for specific demographic groups and geographic locations. The Coordinator must possess extensive knowledge of DoD resources such as Military OneSource, Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC), Personal Financial Counselors (PFC), and the Military Crisis Line. They will lead or assist in coordinating and developing official processes, functions, and networking opportunities for subpopulations served. This role involves establishing, maintaining, and reporting on the activity of peer counseling networks, conducting and contributing to various family support programs (orientation, pre/post-deployment, relational enhancement, career transition), and implementing social/family and psychological programs including suicide prevention and cognitive agility training. The Coordinator must maintain awareness of and communicate installation/local community behavioral health and resiliency resources, assist with developing standard operating procedures, serve as the Commander’s liaison for community and family support matters, and communicate on behalf of the Command through various media. They must also maintain awareness of emergency response protocols.
