About The Position

We’re hiring caring and dependable individuals for part-time positions on our respite care team! Support neurodivergent children and teens, including those with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, while gaining experience and bringing joy to local families. Have you worked as a babysitter, daycare worker, nanny, or church nursery volunteer? Maybe you're known as the family’s favorite Auntie? If this sounds like you, we’d love to welcome you to our babysitter team! Most assignments are Monday through Friday. Several part-time positions are available now in your area, ranging from 15–20+ hours per week. If you’re engaging, communicative, and friendly, this could be your perfect opportunity.

Requirements

  • Genuinely enjoy working with children and be an engaging, creative, child-focused individual.
  • Experience with special needs in any capacity (a huge plus!).
  • Childcare or nanny experience—references may come from paid or unpaid work.
  • Open to working with multiple families in various home environments.
  • Reliable and insured transportation to travel across San Diego County.
  • A cell phone with data to manage schedules and job info via app.
  • Availability for part-time or full-time shifts between 12:00pm–9:00pm.
  • Comfortable with example sitter shifts such as: 12:00pm–6:00pm, 2:30pm–6:30pm, 12:30pm–8:30pm.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Support neurodivergent children and teens, including those with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
  • Engage in play, arts & crafts, reading, and supporting learning through fun.
  • Work with multiple families in various home environments.
  • Manage schedules and job info via app.
  • Be available for part-time or full-time shifts between 12:00pm–9:00pm.
  • Participate in active, kid-centric work environments.
  • Spend part of each day outside, weather permitting, engaging in active play.
  • Perform regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing.
  • React quickly and calmly to certain situations and emergent situations in a safe and effective manner.
