Special Needs (IDD) Aide
About The Position
BAYADA Home Health Care is currently seeking Special Needs (IDD) Aides to join the team in Erie County, PA. BAYADA’s Special Needs (IDD) Aides work one-on-one in home and community settings as a mentor for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to help them reach their goals and fullest potential. The more flexible and reliable you are, the more shifts you may be able to work! The majority of our shifts are part-time, dayshifts, Monday through Friday. Requirements
- One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities
- High school diploma or equivalent (18+)
- Ability to transport clients to community activities
Responsibilities
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Spend time on the client's favorite hobbies and activities
- Support the client's goals towards independence in the home and community
- Accompany clients on errands and appointments
- Participate in community integration activities to focus on socialization
