About The Position

As a Special Needs Assistant, you will assist children with disabilities and developmental delays in every aspect of daily care. You will report to the Center Supervisor. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a pay rate of $14.86 per hour. Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option.

Requirements

• Willingness to obtain a Paraprofessional Certification or specialized work-related credential.
• Some prior experience working with children who have special needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor children's activities to ensure their safety.
• Assist children with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist children with feeding and teach self-help skills.
• Assist teaching staff in implementing curriculum and individualized goals to promote children's growth and learning across developmental areas.
• Promote communication, play, and socialization between children with disabilities and other children in the classroom.
• Assist children with gross motor activities, including grasping, holding objects, posture, crawling, walking, and running, and fine motor activities, including playing with toys, cutting materials, and drawing.
• Work with individual children and in small groups.
• Attend IFSP and IEP meetings when needed.
• Administer medication when needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
