About The Position

The Special Loans Specialist is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and processing all Special Loan products, including but not limited to ARMs, Balloon, MERS, SCRA, Construction, and Interest on Escrow. This role also involves assisting members and clients with their questions as they arise.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHLB and RESPA Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of mortgage products.
  • Knowledge of mortgage software.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to self-initiate and work independently without close supervision.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to be bonded.
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 2 years’ experience processing escrow accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying ARM data accuracy and processing ARM calculations for adjustments.
  • Working daily MERS reports and monthly reconciliation reports to ensure data accuracy in both the MERS system and the system of record.
  • Monitoring balloon loans and ensuring timely mailing of letters to borrowers.
  • Understanding and managing various loan products such as Bi-weekly, DSI, and interest-only loans and their system functionality.
  • Processing and maintaining construction to permanent loans.
  • Processing and monitoring HELOC loans.
  • Monitoring loans in SCRA protection and performing applicable system maintenance.
  • Monitoring and updating interest on escrow percentages within state-required timeframes.
  • Assisting in proactively identifying potential risks, communicating them to management, and taking steps to mitigate them.
  • Consistently evaluating processes and identifying potential improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships by providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Promoting honest and open communication throughout TruHome Solutions.
  • Collaborating with other TruHome departments to ensure workflow and processes provide the best borrower service.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
