This is a unique law enforcement role within the Department of Transportation's Enforcement and Compliance Division, focused on maintaining the safety and compliance of Arizona's transportation network at its borders. The division offers a range of roles from customer support to dispatching and senior management. This specific position, Special Investigator, is open to current ADOT employees and is eligible for a $4,000 hiring incentive. The role involves conducting statewide, national, and international investigations of complex nature, often involving multiple criminal offenses, with a high degree of independence. Investigations may include theft, fraud, embezzlement, forgery, conspiracy, fraudulent schemes, and political corruption. The Special Investigator will confer with prosecuting attorneys, draft subpoenas and warrants, and prepare affidavits for search warrants, arrest warrants, wiretaps, and court orders. Background checks and in-state travel are required. The position may offer remote work flexibility within Arizona, with a hybrid model of 3 days in the office/hoteling and 1 day remote.
