About The Position

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana (UACCHT) is seeking a Special Instructor/Trainer to provide adult education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The goal is to enable students to develop competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.

Demonstrate relentless commitment to academic achievement of all students.
Foster collegiality and teambuilding among staff; encourage their active involvement in the decision-making process.
Communicate and promote expectations for high-level performance from students; hold students accountable for high performance; recognize student excellence and classroom achievement.
Establish and maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment in which learners actively participate and show respect for one another and the instructor.
Prepare lesson plans according to College and Career Readiness standards and submit plans to the director as requested; prepare and execute lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process; use technology to supplement class instruction through use of online distance learning options.
Conduct and arrange ongoing assessment of students' achievement through formal or informal testing; proctor student TABE (pre and post) assessments.
Participate in all required staff development workshops and activities to improve job-related skills.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports; submit weekly attendance records, and other required documents.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as assigned.
