About The Position

Bureau Veritas offers dynamic, exciting employment opportunities with an attractive salary/benefit package and an opportunity to play a vital role with a global organization. We are currently seeking experienced Special Inspectors for immediate openings on various Building, Transportation, and Infrastructure projects in New York City. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and field experience in construction inspection, with a focus on quality and safety.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum of 2 years inspecting construction work in NYC, across projects of varying size and complexity.
Familiarity with Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code.
Must hold at least ONE of the following valid certifications: ICC Soils Special Inspector, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I, ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, NYS Licensed Professional Engineer (Civil).
Current training in fall protection, scaffolding and ladders, work-zone safety.
Minimum of OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification.

Nice To Haves

30-Hour OSHA is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Ensure quality and safety in construction inspection.
Perform inspections on various Building, Transportation, and Infrastructure projects.
Complete and submit inspection reports accurately and on time.
