About The Position

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for a Special Inspector to join their growing team in the Bay Area, California. This role involves performing routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. The Special Inspector will also perform routine laboratory tests on soils and concrete, interact daily with owner and contractor teams, and prepare daily reports and data sheets. The company is a recognized industry leader with over 25 accredited laboratories, focusing on construction management, observation/inspection services, laboratory testing, and materials and forensic engineering.

Requirements

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Radiation Safety & Nuclear Density Gauge Operation Training (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • Must be able to use a computer.
  • General knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook software is required.
  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the Bay Area of California.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field.
  • Verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests on soils and concrete, including compaction curves and concrete compressive strength tests.
  • Interact daily with owner and contractor teams to inspect active work projects.
  • Prepare daily reports and data sheets.
  • Perform various tasks to meet client project goals.
