About The Position

FTC has immediate opportunities for experienced Special Inspectors and Field Engineers to be part of our team. Complete assigned inspection as scheduled by dispatch. Perform scheduled inspection during the time assigned – inspect, review and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings. Usual schedule is 11pm- 7am, hours may vary as needed from 3pm onward. Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Requirements

Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree with field experience
ICC Commercial or Residential Certification required
Technical, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree pertaining to the Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.)
Familiarity with the New York City Building Code
Ability to read prints and find inspection locations
Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Reliable means of transportation necessary
Extensive knowledge of industry standards
Punctual, reliable with good attention to detail
Ability to work various shifts
Ability to travel numerous job sites daily
Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic
Able to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers
Authorized to work in the U.S with a valid driver license

Certifications from ICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACI
