About The Position

FTC has immediate opportunities for experienced Special Inspectors and Field Engineers to be part of our team. The role involves completing assigned inspections as scheduled, performing inspections during assigned times, and reviewing and submitting reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings. The usual schedule is 7am-3:30pm, and all other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager are also part of the role.

Requirements

Certifications from ICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACI
ICC Commercial or Residential Certification required
Familiarity with the New York City Building Code
Ability to read prints and find inspection locations
Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Reliable means of transportation necessary
Extensive knowledge of industry standards
Punctual, reliable with good attention to detail
Ability to travel numerous job sites daily
Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic
Able to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers
Organized and efficient
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Authorized to work in the U.S with a valid driver license

Nice To Haves

Technical, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree pertaining to the Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.)

Responsibilities

Complete assigned inspection as scheduled by dispatch
Perform scheduled inspection during the time assigned – inspect, review and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings
Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
Prepare and electronically submit daily reports
