We are looking for a dedicated Special Hazards Technician to join our team. Special hazards fire suppression systems protect environments where water cannot be used. This is specialized, high-demand work that blends mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems into one technical career path.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and battery-operated tools
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Basic computer skills and comfort using mobile applications
- Customer service mindset with clear communication skills
- Flexibility to work varied hours and on-call when needed
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, or stoop for extended periods
- Comfortable working in tight spaces, climbing ladders, and working at heights
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 70 lbs.
- Willingness to work in varied indoor and outdoor environments
Nice To Haves
- Experience with mining vehicle fire suppression systems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of clean agent and specialty fire suppression systems
- Install piping, cylinders, nozzles, detection devices, and releasing panels
- Run and terminate low-voltage wiring
- Read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Perform inspections, testing, and troubleshooting
- Ensure systems meet safety codes and manufacturer standards
