About The Position

This position is responsible for serving as a host for special events by providing exceptional customer service to guests. It involves setting tables, decorating event rooms, and setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and other food service event equipment. The role also supports kitchen staff by preparing and serving meals and snacks, performing routine tasks to ensure meals are served safely and presentably, cleaning dining facilities, fixtures, equipment, and appliances, and maintaining inventory of supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • One year experience working in a customer service related position with food prep experience preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
  • Valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a host for special events by providing exceptional customer service to guests.
  • Sets tables; decorates event rooms; sets-up and breaks-down tables, chairs, and other food service event equipment.
  • Supports preparation and serves meals and snacks in accordance with established requests, guidelines and schedules.
  • Supports the kitchen staff and performs routine tasks to ensure all meals are served in a safe and presentable manner.
  • Cleans dining facilities, fixtures, equipment and appliances.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Represents the Kroc Center at various internal events, parties, conferences, programs, etc.; maintains a positive and professional relationship with members and visitors as a representative of The Salvation Army.
  • Cleans and prepares a variety of foods and beverages utilizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and supplies in accordance with acceptable and economical cooking methods.
  • Sets tables with plates, napkins and utensils or sets up buffet line for self-service.
  • Cleans tables, chairs, floors, dishes, utensils and kitchen appliances; maintains a high degree of cleanliness in the dining room.
  • Washes, dries, and stores pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups, bowls, and utensils.
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen and vacuums dining room floors.
