About The Position

CPCD provides early childhood education to over 1,100 children living in poverty or facing special circumstances through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Additional health, dental, and family support services are offered to ensure children are ready for school and life. This role involves providing safe and nurturing care for children during special events.

Requirements

  • Previous child care experience.
  • Genuine concern for and ability to relate to young children in a positive manner.
  • Daytime and evening availability.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Child care Licensing.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and monitor children's play activities.
  • Provide age-appropriate activities for children.
  • Interact with children in a safe and caring environment.
  • Prepare and serve meals, snacks, or formula.
  • Accompany children on walks to the playground.
  • Keep the child care area and all materials clean and organized.
