About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Special Equipment Tech Journeyman to provide inspection, routine maintenance, and repair to systems and specialized equipment serviced by the SER shop. This role involves working with a variety of critical systems within the medical center, contributing to the overall operational efficiency and safety of the facility. Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of pneumatic tube systems, including delivery stations, diverters, central interchange systems, and operating software.
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of access control systems, including badge readers, keypads, and garage entry systems.
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of closed-circuit camera systems, including cameras, lenses, and media storage devices.
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of automatic door operators, including sliding, swing, revolving, and power assist doors.
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, including analog, addressable, pre-action, gaseous suppression, and dry systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of patient beds, both electric and non-electric.
  • Maintenance and repair of sterile processing equipment, including aerator cabinets, autoclaves, cart washers, and conveyor systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of heliport fuel delivery systems, including pumps, piping, alarm systems, and underground storage tanks.
  • Maintenance and repair of medical gas storage and delivery systems, including various types of medical gas delivery outlets.
  • Maintenance and repair of bulk trash and linen delivery systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of medical waste sterilization systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of process steam equipment or systems, including flow meters.
