About The Position

Community Workforce Solutions is seeking a Special Education Vocational Instructor for its Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program. The instructor works with high school students with disabilities in the Topsail area and surrounding communities in Pender County, helping students explore career opportunities, develop workplace skills, and prepare for greater independence after high school. The position is 10 months and involves 32–40 hours per week, based on position needs. The instructor travels between assigned school sites in Pender County and reports to the Onslow County office 1–2 times per week.

Requirements

• Experience teaching or working with students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction for different learning needs.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel between school sites and the Onslow County office.
• Ability to complete a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 10–25 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.
