About The Position

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Long Beach, CA ! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Long Beach, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Long Beach, CA Schedule: 8 hours, 1 session a week for 2 hours Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Experienced SPED tutor skilled in supporting students with Autism or learning differences in elementary grades. Strong background in curriculum design and delivering individualized instruction in ELA (reading comprehension, writing, literacy) and foundational math skills. Reserved yet engaging, patient, structured, and able to provide consistent redirection and maintain focus. Comfortable implementing repetition, visual supports, and multisensory activities to enhance retention and engagement. Able to adapt lessons to the student’s learning style, pace, and sensitivities, including sensory considerations.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured, individualized instruction in math and ELA, focusing on foundational concepts, comprehension, writing, and literacy.
  • Bring and implement a structured curriculum to reinforce key academic skills, as the student does not receive regular homework.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and comfortable learning environment, incorporating behavior-support strategies as needed.
  • Use interests such as karate and swimming to motivate and engage the student during lessons.
  • Monitor progress, adjust instruction to address learning gaps, and provide feedback to support growth and confidence.
