At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Riverside, CA ! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Riverside, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Riverside, CA Schedule: 25 hours, 3 sessions a week for 2 hours Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Credentialed teacher with special education experience supporting early elementary students with developmental disabilities. Strong background in phonemic awareness/phonics, sight words, foundational literacy, handwriting, fine motor skills, and foundational math concepts. Experienced in language and communication support, including working with AAC devices and minimally verbal learners. Demonstrated experience implementing behavior interventions; ABA or RBT background strongly preferred. Calm, patient, structured, and consistent, with the ability to manage challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement and clear routines. Comfortable collaborating with families and aligning instruction with IEP goals and related services. Able to conduct an initial assessment to guide individualized instruction.   • Experienced in language and communication support, including working with AAC devices and minimally verbal learners.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing behavior interventions; ABA or RBT background strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, foundational literacy, handwriting, and foundational math skills.
  • Support language development and communication using AAC strategies and visual supports.
  • Implement structured behavior intervention strategies, including reward systems, to address elopement, refusal, and other challenging behaviors.
  • Use multisensory, hands-on, and engaging activities to build foundational academic and communication skills.
  • Reinforce fine motor development and handwriting readiness, including name-writing skills.
  • Align instruction with IEP goals and coordinate strategies with existing speech, OT, and ABA services.
  • Conduct required assessments and provide ongoing progress updates to the family.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and consistent learning environment.
