About The Position

Boothby Therapy Services is actively hiring a Special Education Teacher in Wales, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time (5 days per week) role serving students in grades 5 through 8. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field (required)
Valid Maine Special Education certification or eligibility for certification
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

Deliver specialized instruction to students receiving special education services
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional growth
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
Foster inclusive and supportive learning environments
