About The Position

Conecta Education is currently hiring a Special Education Teacher in the greater Monterey County area. This is a full-time position for the academic year August 2026 to June 2027, with a schedule of 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role requires a mild/mod or mod/severe credential in California, and the pay starts at $65 an hour. The position involves delivering instruction to students with IEPs, adapting curriculum, implementing and monitoring IEP goals, conducting assessments, collaborating with various stakeholders, and participating in IEP meetings. The teacher will also support positive behavioral interventions, utilize assistive technology, maintain accurate records, and attend professional development and staff meetings. Upholding confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (IDEA, FERPA) is essential. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential (mild/moderate or moderate/severe, depending on assignment).
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices (IDEA, Section 504, IEP process).
Experience designing and implementing differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver instruction to students with IEPs, adapting curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
Implement and monitor IEP goals and objectives.
Conduct ongoing assessments and progress monitoring; maintain accurate documentation.
Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to provide coordinated support.
Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on student performance and progress.
Support positive behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies.
Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance student learning.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
Attend professional development, staff meetings, and trainings as required.
Uphold confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (IDEA, FERPA).
