Special Education Teacher 2025–2026 School Year | Wilmette, IL Ampersand Therapy is hiring a dedicated Special Education Teacher in Wilmette , IL for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year. Position Details Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday Start Date: May 1st until end of school year Location: Elementary School with Avoca School District in Wilmette, IL Role Type: Special Education Teacher, Long-term substitute Service Area: Instructional support, IEP collaboration, progress monitoring

Requirements

• Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
• Fingerprinting and background check required before start
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Passion for inclusive education and student-centered practices

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students with IEPs in a resource setting
• Develop and implement instructional strategies tailored to individual learning goals
• Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with school teams
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of student progress
• Participate in staff meetings and school-wide initiatives
