About The Position

Liberty POST is seeking a motivated and energetic Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for per diem employment to work with children aged birth to 5 years old through Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs. Immediate positions are available throughout Long Island. Liberty POST has provided high-quality, individualized services since 1994, backed by Liberty Resources Inc. and part of a large social services network. Originally a speech-language practice, Liberty POST now offers a range of services across New York State and New Jersey, employing over 500 professionals. They utilize a collaborative team approach for evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play, focusing on the child's natural learning environment, family strengths and needs, and the diverse population they serve.

Requirements

• Current New York State Licensure and/or Certification in Special Education
• NYS Teaching certification in B-2nd grade students with disabilities (or permanent certification in Special Education)
• Knowledge of MS Word and comfortable with working with computers
• Valid Driver’s License
• Early Childhood Experience
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree Preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, monitor and track child’s progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Test and evaluate child’s abilities to determine realistic goals.
• Record information on the initial evaluation, treatment, and progress in a timely manner using Electronic Medical Record system.
• Proficient at writing detailed analysis and reports.
• Effectively organize and maintain confidentiality of child’s records and other documentations.
• Follow all state laws and regulations as it pertains to Early Intervention, CPSE/CSE special education.
