About The Position

The primary goal of the Special Education Teacher is to provide specialized instruction in an individualized program for students to empower them to become happy, confident, and productive members of their community. This role involves designing, supervising, and implementing students’ IEP plans, and creating and coordinating student schedules with related services and general education. The teacher will also collect and analyze student data, monitor student progress, and effectively work with a large team of professionals to coordinate services. Participation in staff development training courses focused on working with students with Autism and implementing state-of-the-art strategies for these students is also a key aspect of the position.

Requirements

  • Masters's degree in Special education, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
  • Must possess a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate; or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with ability to attain public certification within one year from date of hire will be considered.

Responsibilities
