About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized support, collaborate with educators, and help junior high students succeed during the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves providing specialized instruction and co-teaching support to junior high students in inclusive general education science classrooms. The teacher will adapt curriculum, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials to support diverse learning needs and ensure access to grade-level content. Additionally, the role requires implementing and monitoring IEP accommodations, modifications, and support plans while collaborating with classroom teachers and school staff. Tracking student progress, maintaining documentation, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting middle school students with disabilities in a special education or co-teaching environment preferred
