Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized instructional programs for middle school students with disabilities in accordance with IEP goals and curriculum standards.
  • Participate in ARD Committee meetings to develop, review, and revise IEPs in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and support staff.
  • Deliver specialized instruction using differentiated teaching strategies, assistive technology, and adapted materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Modify general education curriculum and collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusion and ensure access to grade-level content.
  • Assess student performance using formal and informal evaluation methods, monitor progress toward IEP goals, and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Manage classroom behavior and implement behavior intervention plans to support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records, including IEP documentation, progress reports, and required educational records in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administrators and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address students’ educational and developmental needs.
