Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for a school setting in Conyers, GA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by implementing specialized instruction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress. This is a great fit for both seasoned special education teachers and those new to school-based settings.
Requirements
- Hold appropriate teaching certification in Special Education
- Must have already passed the GACE test in Special Ed Curriculum
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- School-based experience preferred, not required
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction across academic, behavioral, and functional domains
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals and individual needs
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support access to the general curriculum
- Create and maintain a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes positive behavior
- Support students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and health-related needs as required
- Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation
