About The Position

This position is for a Fully Self-Contained classroom teacher at Manoa Elementary, serving students ranging in grades from K-5. The role also includes resource setting instruction. The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers. A Bachelor's Degree is the minimum qualification for teacher positions, with the exception of designated CTE roles. If hired without a completed Teacher's Education Program, candidates have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license and must enroll in a program to continue employment. Active pursuit towards meeting licensing requirements must be demonstrated annually. Upon hire, a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is required.

Requirements

• Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board
• Bachelor's Degree
• Upon hire, must have a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit
• Must enroll in a Program to continue employment if hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program
• Must satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements each year of employment
