Special Education Teacher
About The Position
Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher in the Appleton, Wisconsin area for the 2026–2027 school year. The role supports middle school students with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum needs in a school-based setting. The teacher will work collaboratively with school teams, families, teachers, therapists, and students to support learning and student progress. Ampersand Therapy is a women- and therapist-operated company focused on support and mentorship for school-based professionals. It is committed to equity, community impact, and an inclusive workplace. The position pays $45–$50 per hour. Benefits apply to employees working at least 0.8 FTE after a short waiting period.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
- Active Wisconsin Special Education Teacher license.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a classroom setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create an inclusive classroom setting for all learners.
- Develop and implement IEP goals and therapy plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with school teams.
- Partner with teachers and families to support carryover of skills.
- Maintain timely documentation, progress notes, and compliance records.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
