About The Position

The Elementary Special Education Teacher at El Camino Elementary provides individualized, specially designed instruction to students whose academic, behavioral, adaptive, and developmental needs call for more intensive support than a traditional resource model, but not a fully self-contained setting. The position combines direct academic instruction, adaptive behavior development, and participation in general education settings, based on students’ individual needs and IEPs. The teacher delivers explicit instruction, positive behavior supports, individualized interventions, and ongoing progress monitoring to help students build academic skills, independence, self-regulation, and the ability to generalize learning across school settings. The role includes case management and IEP compliance, collaboration with families and school personnel, and instructional guidance for assigned paraprofessionals. The teacher will contribute to the development of the campus’s evolving hybrid instructional model and to a collaborative school culture focused on high expectations, student achievement, and continuous improvement.
