Coastal Harbor Health System is comprised of a 145-bed hospital for children and adolescents, providing both short- and long-term inpatient care, and a 50-bed inpatient hospital serving men and women, ages 18 and up. Website: coastalharbor.com The Teacher educates students and administers policies and procedures relating to all phases of education in accordance with current state and federal special education standards. In addition, the Teacher is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising individualized direct care, educational group services and activities for each assigned student or group. This position defines and implements education and behavior goals as a member of the educational team. As an active member, this position provides continuous individualized tailored student care, observation, interaction, documentation, and role modeling to students while under the direct supervision of the School Supervisor. As Teacher, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage classroom dynamics throughout school day
  • Instruct on assigned curriculums given for applicable age ranged classroom
  • Assess students for knowledge and competency of curriculum taught
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education or related field. A minimum of three years related experience. Certified as a Special Education teacher by the State of GA required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) yeas as an instructor in a psychiatric facility. Knowledge of educational theories and classroom teaching strategies with a good understanding of education and therapeutic intervention.
  • License: Valid teaching credentials and credentials to teach exceptional children.
