About The Position

We are currently searching for a full-time Special Education Teacher to work at our Elementary school (Grades K through 4). This position will teach a class offering supplemental support to our students with more acute needs. This is a 10-month position; work hours are from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution required

An interpersonal skillset that fosters positive communication with students, staff, administration, and parents
A strong work ethic and an excellent attendance record
Copy of your PA State Police Criminal Record Clearance (Act 34)
Copy of your DPW Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
Copy of your FBI Clearance Fingerprinting with the UEID # (Act 114)
Completion of a Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)
Completion of PDE Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification (Act 24)
Copy of high school and/or college transcripts
Three letters of professional reference
Completion of a PA School Health Record
Completion of Mandated Reporter Abuse Training (Act 126)
Completion of Professional Ethics Training

Nice To Haves

PDE Special Education Teaching Certificate preferred, ER Certification considered
Previous experience teaching in a K-8 setting, specifically in a self-contained special education classroom serving multiple grade levels, is highly desired
Experience with autism, IDD and behavioral health is preferred
