The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. The Manville School, a highly successful and reputable educational program, is seeking an Special Education Teacher. The Special Education Teacher provides therapeutic educational services to students who exhibit a variety of emotional, behavioral, neurological, and learning disabilities that impede their ability to function within a less restrictive classroom setting. The Special Education Teacher implements evidence-based curricula, maintains data-collection systems, and utilizes instruction-driven assessments to measure student progress. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for writing and implementing the Individualized Education Plan’s (IEPs) for each student in the classroom and provides mentorship to an Assistant Teacher. Special Education Teachers receive direct supervision by an educational coordinator, including formal and informal observations, weekly 1:1 meetings, and support with curriculum development.
