About The Position

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for instructing and supervising students. The teacher identifies student needs through continual assessment and develops individual instructional plans based on those needs. The role requires using a variety of methods and materials to implement instruction. The teacher creates a flexible learning environment, which may include mixed-age classrooms, and builds effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. The teacher assesses student progress, uses assessment data to guide instruction, and maintains records required to satisfy Individual Education Plans.

Requirements

• Hold a current and appropriate Oregon Teaching License.
• Be Highly Qualified.
• Have training and/or experience with integrated curriculums.
• Have technology skills.
• Have collaboration and teaming skills.
• Be able to employ a variety of instructional strategies.
• Be familiar with Oregon Standards.

Nice To Haves

• Special education endorsement and experience are preferred.
