About The Position

Boothby Therapy Services is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a full-time position serving children birth to age 5 in Skowhegan, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports our youngest learners, helping students build foundational academic, social, and developmental skills in a supportive, team-based environment. The position is located in Skowhegan, ME, and is a full-time role within a public elementary school setting for the 2026-2027 school year. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Special Education (minimum)
Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

Experience or interest in early childhood, elementary, or special education settings preferred

Responsibilities

Provide individualized instruction to K-5 students with diverse learning needs
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and developmental milestones
Use play-based and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers (SLPs, OTs, PTs), and families
Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment for young learners
