About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Teacher to support students in the Lisle, Illinois area. In this role, you’ll provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and create inclusive learning environments that help students succeed. You’ll work with a collaborative district and a supportive, therapist-run team. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position starting August 2026 for the entire school year, with multiple openings at elementary and middle school levels in self-contained classrooms.

Requirements

• Valid Illinois State teaching license (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement

• School-based experience preferred, not required

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
• Provide specialized instruction across academic subjects
• Manage classroom behavior and create a structured, supportive environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs
• Incorporate technology and resources to enhance learning
