About The Position

LEARN Academy is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a part-time elementary position in Buckeye, Arizona. This role involves managing a small caseload within a K-5 inclusion module, with support from a local Clinical Manager. The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, offering competitive W2 hourly compensation based on experience. LEARN Academy is a nationwide provider of special education services, partnering with schools to enhance the quality and efficiency of services for children with special needs through evidence-based practices and a focus on positive student outcomes. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs by implementing evidence-based interventions to improve their academic, social, and life skills. You will collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and related service providers, evaluating student needs, developing treatment plans, and monitoring progress towards IEP goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or related field
  • Current ADE certification
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card
  • Presently eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Assess students' abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to their unique needs.
  • Adapt general education lessons and teaching techniques to meet the needs of students with various disabilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Prepare and organize classroom activities, educational materials, and assistive technologies to create an effective learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and IEPs as necessary.
  • Manage classroom behavior, implementing positive behavior support strategies when needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.
  • Support early intervening services by participating in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) or response to intervention (RTI) initiatives.
  • Advocate for students' needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and services.
  • Complete academic assessments as directed by school site.
