About The Position
Boothby Therapy Services is hiring an Special Education Teacher for a full-time position service children birth to age 5 in Skowhegan, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports our youngest learners, helping students build foundational academic, social, and developmental skills in a supportive, team-based environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education (minimum)
- Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience or interest in early childhood, elementary, or special education settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction to K-5 students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and developmental milestones
- Use play-based and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers (SLPs, OTs, PTs), and families
- Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment for young learners
