This is a 1.0 FTE Long-Term Substitute (LTS) position for the entire school year, serving as a Special Education Strategies Teacher (previously CIP/EBD/OHD) and Achieve Teacher (previously EBD/OHD/ASD) for .5 FTE, and a Special Education Resource Teacher for .5 FTE. The position is anticipated to begin at the start of the 2026-27 school year and continue until the end of the school year. The role involves teaching the curriculum of Independent School District 196, supporting students with educational needs in social communication and self-regulation skills in a supported environment. It requires developing and demonstrating culturally responsive practices, proactive responses to emotional regulation difficulties, and providing instruction in social-emotional skills. The teacher will demonstrate knowledge of assistive technology, employ high expectations using various instructional techniques, and collaborate with others to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. Advocacy for students with disabilities and strong communication with staff, parents, and professionals are essential. Responsibilities are defined by the master contract.
