About The Position

AB Staffing is hiring Special Education Teachers for elementary and high school openings. Caseloads and classroom details vary by school location. The contract runs through the 2026/2027 school year and follows the academic district calendar, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Pay is $55–$58 per hour, with room to negotiate based on experience.

The teacher creates engaging learning environments, provides personalized support to students, implements curriculum goals, evaluates student progress, and upholds values while modeling good behavior.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Professional Educator’s License (PEL) endorsed for Learning Behavior Specialist.
• Proficiency in the subject area.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods; see and read computer screens and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak clearly at audible tones in person and on the telephone; and understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• May require frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of teaching experience with students with a variety of disabilities, including students with behavior disorders and other learning and cognitive delays.
