Mary Cariola Center is seeking a Special Education Teacher to integrate therapeutic and educational needs into a classroom program. This role involves utilizing appropriate educational techniques and methods suited to each student's individual needs, selecting, developing, and implementing appropriate materials and equipment, and developing a positive educational environment with appropriate behavior management strategies. The teacher will be responsible for recording, reporting, and interpreting student behavior and progress, making necessary program modifications, and working effectively with parents. Additionally, the role includes maintaining a positive and safe environment considering the health, medical, and safety concerns of the students, and carrying out all educational and therapeutic programs, including lifting, moving, and positioning. The position also involves supervisory responsibilities of classroom staff, including Teacher Assistants, Classroom Aides, and volunteers, and carrying out all educational and therapeutic programs. The salary range is $53,500-$75,700 per year, based on experience and education.
