About The Position

West Oak Lane Charter School is looking for Pennsylvania certified Special Education teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves designing and implementing small group instruction based on student IEP goals, teaching all academic subjects, implementing positive behavior support plans, monitoring IEP goal progress, collaborating with related service providers, and using data to drive IEPs and instruction. The teacher will also collaborate with Reading and Math Departments for curriculum support and effective implementation.

Requirements

Knowledge of Pennsylvania academic content standards
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design and delivery, teaching and learning for individuals and groups
Skill in selecting and using appropriate instructional methods and materials when teaching new subjects
Ability to monitor and assess students’ performance to identify areas for improvements and to remediate when appropriate.
Ability to establish and effective working relationships with teachers, parents, administrators and other members of the school.
Pennsylvania Certification K-8, Special Education (Instructional I or II)
Bachelor’s and or Master’s degree in Education preferred

Responsibilities

Design and implement small group instruction derived from student's IEP goals
Teach all academic subjects (Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies)
Implement positive behavior support plan
Monitor IEP goal progress through progress monitoring
Collaborate with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, etc.) to ensure students are receiving services
Effectively use data to drive IEP data and instruction
Collaborate with content teams (Reading and Math Department) for support, curriculum and to ensure appropriate and effective implementation
