About The Position

Learn Academy in Victorville is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher with a Mild/Moderate and/or Extensive Needs credential. The FACS program serves students with Autism, potentially with coexisting Intellectual Disabilities. Classrooms have a maximum of 12 students. Learn Academy is a certified K-12 Private Day School approved by the California Department of Education, utilizing a structured, school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program. They value collaboration, integrity, and a passion for helping children and families.

Requirements

• Valid California Special Education Credential in Moderate to Severe Disabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods of time.
• Must be willing and able to implement safety measures consistent with Professional Crisis Management Association (PCMA) such as: therapeutic holds and transportation procedures utilizing quick body movements in the course of maintaining the safety of students with special needs.
• Candidates must be presently eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities preferred.
• Spanish speaking a plus.

• Provide an educational atmosphere where students can fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.
• Organize and implement an individual instructional program to ensure students achieve academic success.
• Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans.
• Implement instructional activities that promote active student engagement in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Assist in assessing curricular needs and propose improvements.
• Provide a positive environment that encourages active student engagement in the learning process.
