Special Education Teacher (SPED)
About The Position
HealthPro Pediatrics is hiring a full-time, W-2 Special Education Teacher in Surprise, Arizona, at an hourly rate of $40–$46. The role supports students’ educational needs in a school-based setting through consultation, evaluation, participation in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, and delivery of special education services. The teacher collaborates with school staff, families, and a pediatric therapy team, with opportunities for mentorship and professional growth across school, outpatient, early intervention, and ABA services. The position offers weekends, holidays, school breaks, and summer break off. Full-time employees receive year-round benefits.
Requirements
- Hold a current and valid Arizona Special Education teaching certificate appropriate for the assigned grade level and instructional setting.
- Meet applicable Arizona Department of Education certification and credentialing requirements.
- Maintain or obtain required fingerprint clearance and district-mandated credentials.
- Demonstrate experience working effectively with culturally diverse students and families.
- Assume responsibility for ongoing professional development and continuing education required to maintain applicable certification and professional competencies.
Responsibilities
- Consult and collaborate with school staff and families regarding students’ educational deficits.
- Conduct initial screenings and comprehensive evaluations.
- Participate in the IEP process by developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for special education services.
- Provide special education sessions using current best practices and services prescribed in the IEP.
- Maintain district-required documentation, including notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEPs.
