About The Position

Teacher will work closely with the teachers and staff to implement the TEKS and other programs according to state, local and federal guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

• Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification
• Proficient with technology (computer, projector, document camera, software and other related programs).

Responsibilities

• Establish appropriate student relationships that foster student growth and success.
• Provide instructional assistance in an inclusion setting with needed interventions, accommodations and/or modifications in order to successfully access the general education curriculum.
• Confer with parents, teachers, administrators, testing specialists, and professionals to develop individual educational plans designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social development.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on children and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
• Teach socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
