Transition Plus is a community-based program for students aged 18-21. Instruction is provided on-site in the classroom and in the community. The role involves teaching curriculum aligned with the National Transition Standards, developing and demonstrating culturally responsive practices for equitable outcomes, and proactively supporting students with emotional regulation difficulties. The teacher will provide instruction in social-emotional skills, utilize assistive technology, employ high expectations with varied instructional techniques, and collaborate to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. The position also requires advocating for students, promoting strong communication with staff, parents, and professionals, and carrying out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
